Took over for the Legendary Head Coach Bo Schembechler for the Michigan Wolverines Football Team & Program in Ann Arbor. Went 9-3 overall record in 1990 in his 1st season at the helm for the Maize & Blue. 3 losses where combine of 6 Pts. 4 Pts to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on the road in South Bend in the College Football Opener. 2 1-Pt Losses to Michigan State Spartans & Iowa Hawkeyes at home respectively. 30 years ago took over for Bo Schembechler. Aggressive Mind Play Caller & Had Guts to get it done. Knew how to get the best out of those guys time & time again. Players respect him very well. Good all around Football Head Coach.
Did very well as Interim Head Coach for the 2000 Detroit Lions Football Team in the NFL. Took over for the firing of Bobby Ross during that time. Players love playing for Gary Moeller for the Detroit Lions in 2000. They won quite of games during that time being. They respect Gary Moeller. Good mind on those players on a time 2 time basis. Listen to his details very well. Good mind of that one. Execute the plays better then they did with Bobby Ross. Gary Moeller is a good players Head Coach. They believe in his schemes & style they want to play. Good mind of that one. Do it in a right matter of time. Gary is the man period. 20 years ago he was the Interim Head Coach of the Detroit Lions. New GM Matt Millen fired Gary Moeller in the 2001 NFL season went on a down ship after that one.
