Drew Tate had a good 2004 campaign for the Iowa Hawkeyes Football Team for Head Coach Kirk Ferentz in Iowa City. Went 10-2 overall record in the 2004-05 campaign. Shared the B1G Conference Crown with the Michigan Wolverines Football Team. Lose to Arizona State & Michigan on the road. Getting a good victory at home against the Ohio State Buckeyes 33-7. Best play of all-times in Iowa Hawkeyes Football Team & Program History. On the last play of the 2005 Capital One Bowl in Orlando, FL on New Years Day against the LSU Tigers. LSU was up 25-24. Drew Tate hit Warren Holloway in stride for the GW TD when time expired & Iowa beat LSU 30-25. Also was Nick Saban’s last game as Head Coach of the LSU Tigers Football Team & Program in Baton Rouge, LA. Took the job as Head Coach of the Miami Dolphins in the NFL. Drew will always bring back that memory what he did in the Capital One Bowl Game on New Years Day. Guide Iowa to one of the best victories & that play he made in that one. Drew will watch that one for more years to come in the long road & future. Have the privilege to play for a Legendary Head Coach Kirk Ferentz for the Iowa Hawkeyes Football Team & Program in Iowa City. Kinnick Stadium is a very tough place to play Football for our opponents that Iowa goes up against at every home game they have on the schedule. Loud environment indeed. Brutal place to play in the B1G Conference in Football. Get on you all the time. Drew had a rough 2005 & 2006 season. They came very closed to upset Urban Meyer & the Florida Gators in the Outback Bowl Game in 2006 on New Years Day in Tampa, FL at Raymond James Stadium. This memory will bring back Drew Tate on this amazing TD Pass for the GW one on that Hail Mary to Warren Holloway. Kirk Ferentz will never forget that big victory as well too in that 2005 Capital One Bowl Game in his 20 years as Head Coach of the Iowa Hawkeyes Football Team & Program in Iowa City. Drew will think about this one for more years to come in the future.
