Andrew Sherman did amazing work with the 2024 Harbor Beach Pirates 12U Baseball Team. Did a good job with the players he had out there. Lost one game to Sandusky the 1st time around in the regular season. Got revenge in the tournament the 2nd time around. Beat them 9-6 in 8 innings. Won the 2024 postseason action. Good players on that 12U squad in Harbor Beach. I was impressed with them. Sandusky had a good 12U squad as well too. Battle they were in. The 2 best ones around. Glad to cover that game live at Doerr Field in Sandusky.
Played sports in HS for the CPS Tigers in the Class of 1996. Phenomenal Golf Team they had out there in 1994 & 1995. Special core of them. Scott Seifferlein, Jeremy Dust, Brett Backus, Himself, Cory & Clayton Upper. Great squad all the way around. Won the 1994 Class D Regionals in Golf. Don’t even mention the 1995 one. Even better in 1995 then they were in 1994. Didn’t do the job right in the 1995 Class D Regionals at Scenic Golf Course in Pigeon. Cold day on the lakeshores. Dennis Seifferlein was a phenomenal HS Golf Coach for the CPS Tigers in 1987-06. Greatest HS Golf Head Coach in Sanilac County History. Got fortunate enough to play for the Legendary Golf & Baseball Coach in HS. Dennis was a good Baseball Coach as well too. Knew his Golf & Baseball very well. Retired from teaching & coaching for good.
Good Basketball Player in HS. Played for SC4 Skippers in Port Huron. Pretty good team in the 1995-96 CPS Tigers Boys Basketball Team. Leon Westover was the Head Coach for Andrew’s senior year in HS. Over the .500 record in the 1995-96 campaign. Peck Pirates had a pretty good team out there. Kingston Cardinals had the best one around with John McLaughlin at the helm. Best player in the NCTL during that time frame.
Worked for the Post Office in Sandusky for a while. Golf once in 2024. Stay in touch with his kids playing sports. Member at Ubly Heights Country Club for a while. Lives in Harbor Beach right now. Outsides skirts of that area. Good athlete all the way around. Inspire other people in the Whole Thumb Area.
