Nick Cobb is playing the Curt Henderson school of Baseball for the 2024 10U Almont Raiders Team. Had the privilege to play for the Legendary Head Coach in HS for the Mayville Wildcats Baseball Team in 1996-98. 1998 Mayville HS Graduated. Teach the kids the proper way to play the game of Baseball the right way at all times. Nick is doing a good job with that department. Nick showed his son his Baseball test he took in HS. Team requirement was for Curt Henderson to take a Baseball test before season started, before every opponent you are going to face up against. You have to have a 70% or better on the test to get any playing time on the roster. You get below a 70% on the test you don’t get to play in the games at all. Gotta be in school on time. Do good in the classroom. Get good grades in school. Won the 2024 Capac Baseball Tournament last week for the 10U squad. Good group of fine kids on his roster. I was impressed his group. Teaching them the right things for them to succeed in the upcoming years ahead.
His Brother Nathan Cobb played on 2 of Curt Henderson best teams for the Mayville Wildcats Baseball Team in 1993 & 1995. Got to be around with the best of them in school. Scott Frenzel, Chris Yens, Joel TerBush, Chad Brant, & Joe Fisher. Great people he was surrounded with the best of them. 1st Baseman on the roster. Really good speed for a 1st Baseman. He was a lefty indeed. Special bunch for sure. Nick played with the 1996 Mayville HS Class as a Sophomore on Varsity. Learn from those guys & took that to the Coaching Ranks right now in Almont. 1995 squad was the best one Curt ever had as a Head Coach for the Mayville Wildcats Baseball Team.
His Niece Addison Cobb plays for the North Branch Broncos Softball Team. CF on Varsity. Played on the Back 2 Back Division 2 District Champions. Went to the Division 2 Semifinals & lose to Vicksburg Bulldogs 4-0 at Michigan State University in East Lansing. She’ll be a Junior at North Branch HS almost 3 more weeks from now. In the Class of 2026 at North Branch HS.
Glad to see the Michigan Wolverines Football Team be National Champions on January 8th, 2024. Beat the Washington Huskies 34-13 at NRG Stadium in Houston, TX. Best victory was against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the 110th Rose Bowl Game on New Years Day in Pasadena, CA. 27-20 OT win. Stuff the QB draw up the middle on 4th & goal on the final play of the contest. One moment to look at for a long time coming. Nathan & Nick are big Michigan Wolverines Sports Fans.
Nick loves Baseball the best. Detroit Tigers are 52-54 on the season now. Hanging in there as much as possible. Got a 7-2 win over the Minnesota Twins on Saturday Night at Comerica Park in Detroit. Did like the Ron Gardenhire hire on October 19th, 2017 to be the Manager of this Ball Club. Also did like the AJ Hinch hire as well too on October 30th, 2020 at Comerica Park in Detroit.
