Katie Shuboy phenomenal week for the Richmond Blue Devils Softball Team. Threw 3 shutout games against the Goodrich Martians, Escanaba Esckymos, & Paw Paw Red Wolves. Won all 3 games in her fine 4-year career. Pitching Coach Nicole Clark & Head Coach Howard Stuart had the trust & confidence in Katie’s abilities on the mound. Got the best of Jayden Gohs from the Goodrich & Grayson LaMarche from Escanaba. Jayden is going to Louisville & Grayson is going to Michigan. Katie was right there with Jayden & Grayson in the Quarterfinals & Semifinals. Win your last HS Softball game as a State Champion on Saturday against Paw Paw at Secchia Stadium in East Lansing at Michigan State University. Leave East Lansing with a State Championship Trophy to take home to Richmond HS on Saturday. Won the BWAC, Districts, Regionals, & States in 2024. Collect 4 trophies to keep on the Trophy case at Richmond HS to have everyone see that one in the upcoming years ahead. Katie had the honor & privilege to play for the Legendary Head Coach Howard Stuart in HS. Graduated at Richmond HS in the Class of 2025 a month ago. Play for good coaches on Varsity. John Foster, Kevin Caperton, & Nicole Clark, & Howard Stuart. Good coaching staff to play for. They know their Softball very well. She learned a lot of them in her 4 years on Varsity Softball. Left a good Legacy for herself & everyone else in the program. You get to talk about your brilliant 4-year career in HS Softball. Fortunate enough to be a good part of something special. 40 innings of shutout Softball in your last 5 games of your career. Allowed one run against Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Eaglets in the 1st inning. Solo HR to RF by the 2nd Baseman that is going to Kentucky to play College Softball in the SEC in Lexington. Going to the Bluegrass State. Shut them down the next 7 innings. Went 5 innings against Marysville Vikings in the Regional Championship Game at Cros-Lex HS. Didn’t allow a run in that contest. 21 more innings of shutout Softball last week against Goodrich, Escanaba, & Paw Paw. She had 33 K’s in the last 3 wins of her career. Remarkable performance she showcase her skills in everyone else in attendance. Play against the best of the best the State has to offer. She did a good job with that department. Love watching her pitch in her 4 incredible years. One shining moment has begun for Katie Shuboy. Lose 50% to graduation in 2025. Get 50% back for the 2026 campaign. Howard will do a good job as Head Coach no matter what. Amazing Softball Tradition in Richmond on a year in & year out basis. Fun ride indeed. 3rd State Championship Trophy in School History.
