Jason Hahn took over for Randy Carlisle’s position as Head Coach for the 2025 Vassar Vulcans Football Team. Retired as Head Coach for the Vassar Vulcans Baseball Team after the Division 3 District Semifinal game was over against the Otisville-LakeVille Falcons at Millington HS a month ago. Guided them to win the 2018 Greater Thumb Conference West Division Champions with RHP Steven Hecht & company for the Vassar Vulcans Baseball Team. Went on to play at SVSU Cardinals Baseball Team in Division 2. Came back home after College.
Played for Head Coach Tim Travis & DC Gary VanSumeren for the 2000 & 2001 USA Patriots Football Team. LB on Defense. Having the honor & privilege to play for the Greatest High School Football Head Coach in Thumb Area History. 2002 USA HS Graduated. In the same class as Scott Travis which is Tim’s son in 2002. Misses Josh Hoppe to this day. Got killed in a car accident in December of 2013 in Grand Rapids. Social Studies Teacher at the HS he was at. TE on Offense in 2000. QB in 2001. Sad to see Josh gone at a young age. Very nice guy overall.
1997 USA Patriots Football Team went 8-1 overall record. Didn’t make the Class C Playoffs. Share the GTCW Division Title with the EPB Lakers & Bay City All Saints Cougars. No business losing to the BCAS on the schedule on the road in Week 6 of the 1997 campaign. Been my team to win the Class C State Title in 1997. They would’ve beat the Deckerville Eagles & Brown City Green Devils in the playoffs. Beat Decatur in the Class C Semifinals. Beat Ravenna Bulldogs in the Class C State Championship Game at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac.
Proved themselves the next season in 1998. Going 13-0 on the campaign. Beat the Traverse City St. Francis Gladiators 16-8 in the Class C State Championship Game at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac. Overpowered the Gladiators in the Class C State Championship Game. Jason’s Freshman year in HS. 2004 squad was the best one indeed. That squad was unreal. Went 14-0 overall record in 2004. Allowed 43 points on the scoreboard in all 14 games on the schedule. 9 shutouts all together. Beat the Detroit St. Martin DePorres Eagles in the Division 7 State Championship Game at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac. 14-7 USA Patriots Win. Tim Travis last game as Head Coach for the USA Patriots Football Team. Ben Hoppe stick WR David Grimes on 4th & goal in that contest. David was 6 inches short of the end zone. Ben won that game for USA on that day. Lance Travis drilled WR David Grimes in that contest. Loud sound I heard on TV. Never forget about that one. David Grimes started for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football Team in 2005 for Head Coach Charlie Weis in South Bend. True Freshman he played out there.
Likes the Michigan Wolverines Football Team. See them be National Champions on January 8th, 2024. Get a 34-13 win over the Washington Huskies at NRG Stadium in Houston. Took home the College Football National Championship Trophy to Schembechler Hall in Ann Arbor. Go 15-0 on the 2023-24 campaign. Jim Harbaugh did a good job as Head Coach for the Maize & Blue 2015-23. Jim Harbaugh is a program builder in all of Football. What he did with the San Diego Toroes, Stanford Cardinal, San Francisco 49ers, Michigan Wolverines, & now with the Los Angeles Chargers in College & NFL. Been a winner at every place he went to. Now, they got Sherrone Moore at the helm. Won 8 games in 2024. Win out the last 3 games of the 2024 season. Beat the Ohio State Buckeyes 4 years in a row. Beat the Michigan State Spartans 3 years in a row. Beat the Alabama Crimson Tide 2 games in a row.
Dan Campbell has done a good job as Head Coach for the Detroit Lions Football Team in the last 4 years. 3 straight winning seasons for this Franchise. Back 2 Back NFC North Division Champions. Won 15 games a year ago. Got upset by the Washington Commanders in the NFC Divisional Playoff Game at Ford Field in Detroit. 45-31 Commanders win over the Lions on January 18th, 2025. Dan brings in that grit to this roster. Been strong in the NFL Draft Picks in the last 5 years. Credit GM Brad Holmes building a good NFL team already now. All starts in the NFL Draft.
Likes the Detroit Tigers Baseball Team also too in the MLB. Losing 8 of 9 games as of late. AJ Hinch has done a good job as Manager for this Ball Club in his 5 years at the helm. Been strong in the MLB Draft 2018-present. 60-43 on the campaign. AJ knows his stuff very well. Lots of good young talent on display. No. 1 overall Farm System in the MLB. Lots of good prospects on display. Drafted a lot of pitchers in the 2025 MLB Draft. They have done a good job developing players. Won 86 regular season games in 2024. Did good damage in the American League Playoffs. Phenomenal final 3 months of the 2024 campaign to talk about the Detroit Tigers Baseball Team. Still a good team they got now in progress. They will get their groove back to normal once again.
Jason is going to play the 5-2 Defense for the Vassar Vulcans Football Team in 2025-present. Dave Elliott looks up to Jason Hahn & so does Tim Travis as well too. Gary VanSumeren looks up to Jason also too. 3 really nice guys to talk about. Build Vassar Vulcans to a powerhouse in the upcoming years ahead in Football. Likes Football & Baseball the most. Good QB on the Vassar Vulcans Football Team right now. Played on Varsity for the last 2 years. Jason will do a good job as Head Coach in the upcoming years ahead.
