Almont Raiders put on a show on the road against the North Branch Broncos on Friday Night at Krepps Field in North Branch HS. Jack Paupert & Mason Smith where brilliant in the victory on the road for Head Coach James Leusby for the Almont Raiders Football Team. Defending BWAC Conference Champions shown that there the cream of the crop again to be BWAC Conference Champions in 2019. North Branch’s Defense allowed 6 points on the scoreboard total. Almont put up 61 points in this contest. Josh Hellebuyck threw a couple of TD passes to Jack Paupert in this one. Colby Shapman was brilliant on those receptions too for the Almont Raiders. Defense was solid too. Season high 20 points they allowed on the scoreboard. Jacob Castillo ran the Football very well too for Head Coach James Leusby in the big road victory. Jeremy Ferman is building a good program up for the North Branch Broncos in his 3rd season. Freshman Will Damaska threw 2 TD passes to Drake Deshetsky in the 1st Quarter & Kolby Wentzel in the 3rd Quarter. Drake Deshetsky scored from 1-Yard out in the 3rd Quarter. Defense missed assignments in this contest. Jeremy Ferman is building a good program & foundation to the North Branch Broncos Football Team already now. They will regroup & get ready for Algonac Muskrats on the road next week at Algonac HS & Almont is home with the Cros-Lex Pioneers next week. Both teams will make the 2019 MSHAA Football Playoffs in Division 4 & Division 5 respectfully. Almont started a Pee Wee League when Jeremy Ferman was there in 2004-14. He is doing one for the North Branch Broncos Football Team now. They run the same Jeremy Ferman plays at Almont. Rivalry Game indeed. Both teams don’t like one another at all. It was on the stat sheet for sure.
