Mike Schmidt played for Head Coach Bob Staskiewicz for the Marine City Mariners Football Team in 1989-90. 1991 Marine City HS Graduated. Head Coach for the Kingston Cardinals Baseball Team right now. Took the squad to the Division 4 State Championship Game on May 31st, 2024 at Marlette HS. Lose to the host squad 17-5. Did a good job with that roster all season long. Didn’t win the NCTL Title. Finished in the Top 3 in the NCTL.

Scott Helton played for Head Coach Curt Henderson for the Mayville Wildcats Baseball Team. 1992 Mayville HS Graduated. His Son Isiah “Zeke” Helton graduated a month ago. Good Baseball Player for Head Coach Mike Schmidt in the last 3 years for the Kingston Cardinals Baseball Team. Reach his milestone for over 400 plus strikeouts in his amazing career. Curt taught Scott how to play & coach Baseball. Curt can flat out Coach Baseball with the best of them.

Saw the Michigan Wolverines Football Team be National Champions on January 8th, 2024. Beat the Washington Huskies 34-13 at NRG Stadium in Houston, TX. Last game for Head Coach Jim Harbaugh as a Head Coach for the Maize & Blue. Beat the Ohio State Buckeyes 3 years in a row. Beat victory was in the 110th Rose Bowl Game on New Years Day in Pasadena, CA. Beat the Alabama Crimson Tide 27-20 OT win. Do like the Detroit Tigers Baseball Team is a up & coming one to watch out for in the future years ahead. Lots of good prospects in the Detroit Tigers Baseball Farm System. Strong in the MLB Draft in 2018-present. Started with Ron Gardenhire 2018-20. AJ Hinch kept that trend rolling 2021-present.

Bob Staskiewicz & Curt Henderson went to CPS HS Graduated in 1969 & 1970 respectively. Both of them went to CPS HS together. Played Football & Baseball on the same squad. They went to Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant. Got their degrees in education. Mike got fortunate enough to have Bob in HS as gym teacher & Football Coach. Scott got fortunate enough to have Curt as a gym teacher & Baseball Coach. Both of them work very well together as a team……
