His College Football debut on September 4th, 2021 at The Big House in Ann Arbor. On 3rd & 30 in the 4th Quarter against the Western Michigan Broncos. JJ threw a nice Football to WR Dylan Baldwin for a TD. One announcer said on JJ don’t do it. JJ did that one anyways. Got a 47-14 win in the 2021 College Football Opener on Labor Day Weekend in Ann Arbor. Things gotten better in the next 2 years for the Maize & Blue.
November 26th, 2022 at the Horseshoe in Columbus. JJ McCarthy had a good game against the 11-0 Ohio State Buckeyes on Thanksgiving Weekend. 3 TD passes & TD run in a 45-23 win over the Scarlet & Gray in a tough hostile environment. Toughest place to play in the nation & also in the B1G Conference. 69 & 75 TD pass to WR Cornelius Johnson in the 2nd Quarter. TE Coltson Loveland in the 3rd Quarter for the Maize & Blue on Offense. 3-yard TD run in the 4th Quarter. Got out of Columbus taking home Back 2 Back B1G Conference East Division Title.

Saw what, Sam Darnold did a year ago. Filing in nicely for JJ’s absents. JJ suffered a ACL injury in preseason action a year ago. Won 14 regular season games a year ago. Kevin O’Connell is a good NFL Offensive Head Coach. Went to the NFC Wild Card Playoff Game. Lose to the Los Angeles Rams at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ. Couldn’t play at So-Fi Stadium in Los Angeles. Because of the Wildfire in L.A. they were dealing with in January.
