Danny Hale became the 1st one to win District Titles as a player & HC in Sandusky Wolves Boys Basketball Team & Program History. To accomplish both of them. It was a good hire by AD Al DeMott made after the school season was over. Didn’t get a lot of summer Basketball in on time. Won 16 games on the season. Did a good job with that unit all season long. 2016 Sandusky HS Graduated. Knows his Basketball very well. Taking over for John Baerwolf’s position late this summer. John turned his resignation late of the school season. Danny is a good hire for this position he is in now.
Won the 2015 Class C District Championship Game at Brown City HS. Comeback win over the Marlette Red Raiders. Connor Green GW shot at the buzzer when time expired. Complete the comeback win. Down double digits on Marlette in the 4th Quarter. Special moment for this unit. Once in a life time generation. Memory to bring back from.
Won it again in Danny’s senior year at home in the 2016 Class C District Championship Game. Beat the Marlette Red Raiders by 4 points at home. Back 2 Back Class C District Champions.
10 years later. Beat the Capac Chiefs in the Division 3 District Championship Game on Friday Night at Brown City HS. Get a 58-44 win. Danny Hale made history in that contest himself. Won their 5th District Championship Title in the last 20 years in Sandusky. Bring in Defense & Rebounding his HC resume for the Sandusky Wolves Boys Basketball Team in the upcoming years ahead. Saw what the Michigan State Spartans have done in the last 30 years under Head Coach Tom Izzo in East Lansing. Won the 2000 National Championship Title. 2009 National Runner-Up Finishers. Went to several Final Four appearances during that time. Won several B1G Conference regular season & tournament titles. Danny went to some of those game at the Breslin Center in East Lansing. While he was in College. Be his formula to bring to Sandusky for the future years ahead.
4 juniors & 4 sophomores on Varsity right now. 4 seniors as well too. Nice combination they have now in store. Lose Riley Locke, Marvin Kritzman III, Brady Steeb, & Caden Nichols. Those 4 seniors came to Danny Hale’s system. They love playing for Danny this season. This is a fun to watch out there anyways. Danny is the right one for this position he is in now. Look out for them next season. They will be better than they were this season……
Focus on the Harbor Beach Pirates matchup in the Division 3 Regional Semifinal Game in practice on Sunday & Monday. Head to Cass City HS. Had one good Quarter against Harbor Beach twice in the regular season. Get 4 good Quarters of good Basketball & 32 good minutes of live action on Tuesday Night at “The Pit” in Cass City. Harbor Beach is beatable. Learn from 2 of those games they lost. Take that one to the Regionals.
