Matt Mellendorf is a good Baseball player for the Cass City Red Hawks in the Class of 2025. I was impressed of what he did against the Sandusky Wolves on Wednesday Night in GTC Crossover Action at Albrecht Field Baseball & Softball Complex in Sandusky. Pitch a CG for this unit. Went 4 for 5 in hitting department side of things. Made things interesting for everyone else in the 2 wins on the road. Been on Varsity for 3 years. Got the called up as a Freshman in 2022. I was impressed with him as a 1st Baseman on Varsity. Plays Travel Baseball as well too. Loves this sport the most. Good role player in Basketball. Won the GTCW Division & District 3 Champions. Go to the Division 3 Regional Championship Game this past year. Head Coach Aaron Fernald & Morgan Erla love having Matt Mellendorf on the roster. Good competitor in both sport he does out there. Win at the end of the day in practices & games. Favorite sport is Baseball he enjoys playing the most. Michigan Wolverines Sports Fan.
Matt Mellendorf kept believing in himself. Bases Loaded with 1 out in the 3rd inning in the 1st game of the DH on Wednesday Night in Sandusky. Made a key pitch & made a nice play at home & got the runner out at 1st Base for a Double Play. Keep the 0’s on the scoreboard for Sandusky. 1-2-3 Double Play. Got the decision in the 1st game. Win 17-1 in 5 innings of work. Defending GTCW Division Champions, Division 3 District & Regional Champions. Win the Regionals for the 1st time in school history. Beat the 2022 State Runner-Up Finishers Detroit Edison Pioneers in the Super Regionals at Algonac HS in extra innings 2-1.
Head Coach Morgan Erla is glad to have Matt Mellendorf on the Varsity in his 3rd season at the helm. Morgan & Matt see eye to eye with one another on the team. Good student of the game & listen to details of what he needs to do out there at practices & carry that one over to the games. Know what he needed to do out there anyways. Does that one to perfection. Showcase his Baseball skills for me & everyone else on the playing field. Plays this sport a lot year round. Take him to this stage he is in now. Display that stuff to his coaches on the roster. Good feel of the game. Good neck of what he needs to do out there anyways. Good mindset of what it takes for him to succeed in 2024. Glad to cover his game on Wednesday Night in Sandusky. Win both games on the road. Morgan Erla is one of the best HS Baseball Head Coaches in the whole Thumb Area. Matt likes Morgan a lot.
