Mike MacDonald will make a difference as Defensive Coordinator for the 2021 Michigan Wolverines Football Team in Ann Arbor. Taking over for Don Brown as Defensive Coordinator for now on. Don Brown got fired at that position on December 22nd, 2020. Head Coach Jim Harbaugh hired Mike MacDonald on January 18th from the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL. Served as LB’s Coach for Head Coach John Harbaugh in the last 5 years there. Top 5 Defense’s in the NFL during that time being. Held the NFL’s Leading Rusher Derrick Henry to 40 yards rushing in the AFC Wild Card Playoff Game against the Tennessee Titans on January 10th in Nashville in a 20-13 victory. Held the Buffalo Bills to 17 points in the lost on January 16th on the road in Orchard Park, New York in the AFC Divisional Playoff Game. Switch from a 4-3 to a 3-4 instead. They got pushed around on the 4-3 Defense a year ago. 3-4 will work for the Maize & Blue instead in 2021. Defend the Crossing Routes & Slants & other ones too. Play lots of Zone Coverages against the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2021 at The Big House in Ann Arbor. Spy the QB also too. Teams started to figure out the Gimmick Defense in 2020. Going 2-4 on the season too. Giving up 62 points on the scoreboard to Ohio State in 2018 at The Horseshoe in Columbus & 56 points in 2019 at The Big House in Ann Arbor. Unacceptable indeed.
