Bret Bielema has done a good job as Head Coach for the Illinois Fighting Illini Football Team & Program in his 2nd year at the helm in Champaign. Had a good run as Head Coach for the Wisconsin Badgers in 2006-12 in Madison. Went 68-24 overall record in his time being there. Took over for Barry Alvarez in 2006. Went 12-1 overall record in his 1st year at the helm. Went to the Arkansas Razorbacks in 2012-17 in the SEC Conference. Went to the NFL for the New England Patriots & New York Giants as Assistant Coach for Bill Belichick in 2018-19 in Foxboro, MA. 2020 with the New York Giants with Head Coach Joe Judge. Went back to the College Football Level in Champaign. From Illinois. Played his College Football for the Iowa Hawkeyes in the past years for Head Coach Hayden Fry. 5-1 on the 2022 season in Illinois. Only lost was to the Indiana Hoosiers at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington 23-20. 2 nice wins against the Wisconsin Badgers at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison & Iowa Hawkeyes at Memorial Stadium in Champaign. Take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers this week at home. Been a surprised team in the 2022 B1G Conference Football season so far so good. Good place to have Bret there anyways. Good hire they made in the off-season during the COVID-19 Pandemic was going that time being. Went 5-7 in 2021 & now 5-1 in 2022. Took over for Lovie Smith’s position as Head Coach. Loves to run the ball, play good team Defense, good Special Teams, & score TD’s. Good Football Recipe to have in the system period. Leads to success in the “W” column. Seeing that one on display now in Illinois…….
