Gauntlet schedule started for this unit. Head Coach James Leusby have to get thru this tough BWAC Schedule in the last 3 weeks. North Branch Broncos at Krepps Field in North Branch HS. Armada Tigers on Homecoming. Cros-Lex Pioneers at home. Got Richmond Blue Devils & Yale Bulldogs on the road. Can’t take both of them lightly at all. Be on your A+++ game. Be smart & decisive about that one. Take care of your body. Stay focus on the stuff you need to do out there. Job isn’t done yet. Come ready to compete in practices & carry that one over to the games. Be on full force. DC John Forti did a good job with unit. Almont had 2 fumbles lost. Defense carry that one over. Shut them down 2 times on Almont’s turnovers. Respond very well. Kept them out of the end zone 4 times in the red zone. Cros-Lex scored 3 TD’s in that contest. Almont did a good job containing RB Belly Groppi in the “W”. Made them a one dimensional team. Make them throw the Football. Play catchup. Defense Wins Games & Championships In All Of Sports. Luke Winkler is a speedster on this roster. Remarkable in the victory. Long TD run in the 2nd Quarter. Kickoff return for a TD in the 4th Quarter. Interception to put the game out of reach. He is a junior right now at Almont HS. You can’t coach speed at all period. You haven’t or you don’t. Luke has amazing speed. God gifted speed at the RB position on Offense. DB on Defense. Help out Chase Battani & company. Chase Battani is a good team player for this unit. Good leader on this roster. Set everyone else on the roster. Luke Winkler will follow Chase Battani’s footsteps next season. Send the home crowd home happy with a “W” on Friday Night. Get a 30-20 over a good Cros-Lex squad.
