Head Coach Phil Martin has 3 seniors lead the way. I saw that one on Friday Night on Homecoming against the Freeland Falcons. Get a 38-13 win in Conference Play. Win their 11th straight Conference Title. All-Time Winningest Head Coach in School History. Handled their business against a good Freeland Falcons squad in front of a big crowd on hand. Came out & execute the game plan to perfection. Make a good statement for everyone else. These 3 seniors played a lot of Football in the last 2 years. Phil is pleased of they’ve done in the program. Do the things you are supposed to be doing. They’ve done that one very well all 2023 season long. Goodrich Martians in the opener at The Big House in Ann Arbor. 13-8 lost in non-conference action. It woke them up. Made themselves a better team moving forward. 6-1 on the season. Bridgeport & Gladwin on the road in the next 2 games on the schedule. Keep your composure & do the things it needs to be done.
Jack Rich played on Varsity for 3 years for the Frankenmuth Eagles Football Team. Took over the QB position in 2023. Backup Aidan Hoard a year ago. Doing a good job running the Offense for Head Coach Phil Martin all season long. Remember watching him score a TD run in the Division 5 Regional Championship Game against the Flint Hamady Hawks in the 4th Quarter in backup time. Get a 49-7 win on November 11th, 2022 at Frankenmuth HS. Making his opportunities count in 2023. Going to play College Baseball for the SVSU Cardinals next season. Good 2-sport athlete. Dedicated individual. Takes care of himself very well. Do it in a right matter. Want a Senior QB on the roster in HS Football. Phil does a good job with that department having a Senior QB lead the way. Jack is one of them.
Hunter Bernthal has been unbelievable at RB for the Frankenmuth Eagles in the last 2 years. One of the strongest players on the roster. Putting in the hard work & dedication to where he is at. Played quite of bit as a Junior on Varsity. Learn a lot about playing on the Varsity. Doing a good job leading the way for this unit. Phil Martin is pleased of what Hunter has accomplish so far in 2023. Made a nice diving reception in the 2nd Quarter on Friday Night. Set himself up for a TD run. Increase the lead at 21-7. Good Kickoff Returner as well too. See that one against the Essexville-Garber Dukes the week before the Freeland Falcons matchup.
Griffth Barker has been unbelievable as well too. Making the most out of his abilities at the FB position on Offense. Played a lot a year ago. I remember him scoring a TD run in the Division 5 State Championship Game at Ford Field in Detroit. Get a 10-7 lost to the Gladwin Flying GS on November 26th, 2022. Bad taste of there mouth losing in the Division 5 State Championship Game. Got them on the schedule next week at Gladwin HS. Nice performance against the Freeland Falcons on Homecoming Night. Phil Martin is pleased of what Griffth has done in 2023. Job isn’t done yet . Not satisfied at all. Keep the trend coming.
