Harbor Beach Pirates get a victory over the Sandusky Wolves in GTCE Division in Girls Basketball Action on Tuesday Night at home. Down by 9 points at halftime. Show some good resiliency in the 2nd half. Get a comeback win over a good Sandusky squad. Ellynne Volmering took over for Jim Tamlyn’s position this off-season. Jim took a principal job in the UP. Back closer to home once again. Sandusky had a 26 game winning streak in GTCE Division Action ended in this contest. Program win for the Harbor Beach Pirates Girls Basketball Team. Got a lot of good ones coming from the JV & Jr. High girls as well too. Building that up nicely once again now in HB. JoAnn Capling was an excellent coach in 1973-97. Started that one up 1st. Best thing they ever had in HB. Top 5 best Girls Basketball Head Coaches of all-times in Thumb Area History. Ellynne played for JoAnn on Varsity in HS for the Harbor Beach Pirates Girls Basketball Team. 1981 Harbor Beach HS Graduated. Wide open GTCE Division Title can go to anyone this season. Sandusky lost 8 players off the roster to graduation in the Class of 2022 & 2023. Good young squad on hand now. They will respond. Move forward to the next opponent on the schedule. Al does a good job with these ladies in the program. Rivalry game between Harbor Beach & Sandusky in Girls Basketball in the past & present years. Unfinished business to take care of 1st.
