Claire Stevens took over for Kurt Dennis position this season for the Bad Axe Hatchets Girls Basketball Team as Head Coach. She is doing a good job with the team she is got now. Kurt kept the program in excellent shape. Got Cheyenne Perry as the JV Coach right now. He stayed on as JV Head Coach. Win the GTCW Division Crown for 1st time in a long time. Beat the Caro Tigers 23-21 on Friday Night at Caro HS. Lost a lot of good talent in the 3 years. Still have good talent on display now. Led Senior Emily Dennis. Been a good leader all season long. Couple of good young assistant coaches in the program now. Mae Woodke from Harbor Beach & Will Sutton from Bad Axe. Claire is from Sanford-Meredian HS. Graduated in 2008. Saw them beat the Peck Pirates on Tuesday Night at Peck HS. Claire will be on my Coach of the Year Award Candidate list this season. On a job well done for the Bad Axe Hatchets Girls Basketball Team all season long.
