Greg Welke doing a good job with the 2024 Brown City Green Devils Baseball Team. Really good Baseball Coach. Took over for Jesse VanBuskirk position in 2017. Kept them ahead of schedule in the last 2 years. Won the Division 4 District Title in 2023. Beat the Peck Pirates & Marlette Red Raiders in the Districts at Peck HS. Beat the Genesse Christian Soldiers in the Regionals at Peck HS 17-1. 1st Regional Win in School History. Lost a lot of players in the last 2 years. Put up a good effort against Division 4 State Runner-Up Finishers to Plymouth Christian Academy in the Regional Championship Game at their place in the Super Regionals. This core is not a talented team. Hard working bunch of them anyways. Love the coach on what they want them to do out there. Do it anyways. Keep them ahead of schedule. Stay focus on task. Remember, Detroit Tigers Manager Ron Gardenhire had in 2018-20 with the Ball Club he had out there in that 3-year span. Greg Welke reminds me of Ron Gardenhire as Managers for the Minnesota Twins & Detroit Tigers Baseball Team. Likes the New York Yankees. Saw them sweep the Detroit Tigers 2 weeks ago at Yankees Stadium in the Bronx. Uncle Tim Welke is a good MLB Umpire. Greg went to Portage Northern HS on the west of the state. Went to Oakland University to play College Baseball in Rochester, MI. Married Jenna Lange after College. Works in North Branch. Lives in Brown City. Working on that Baseball Complex really hard in the spring, summer, & fall time. Make that place a special one indeed. Best one around in Sanilac County. Good crew working on that Baseball & Softball Complex in Brown City. Keep that facility really nice year round. Just like Camden Yards in Baltimore. Good MLB Ballpark. Likes the Michigan State Spartans Sports Teams in East Lansing. Greg is a very nice guy to be around with…… Knows his Baseball very well. Good mindset of the game very well. Players respect him very well……
