Carrie (Hickson) Lohr played on Al DeMott’s best team he ever had in 1987 for the Sandusky Redskins Girls Basketball Team. PG for that roster. Play with the best player in school history. Lucretia (LeGault) Bowerman during that time. They were 18-2 in the regular season in 1987. Finished 2nd in the TCC behind the champions Harbor Beach Pirates. Harbor Beach was loaded that season with Colleen Wruble & company.
Finally got the Harbor Beach Pirates in the Class C Regional Championship Game at Mayville HS. Play against the Detroit St. Martin DePorres Eagles in the Class C Quarterfinals at Goodrich HS. Almost beat them in the Quarterfinals. Finished the season at 23-3 overall record in 1987 for the Sandusky Redskins Girls Basketball Team. That was Al DeMott’s best team he ever had as HC in his amazing 47 years at the helm. All-time MHSAA winningest HC ever. Carrie was fortunate enough to play for the BCAM Hall of Fame HC in HS. 1989 Sandusky HS Graduated.
Carrie Lohr is now the Head Coach for the Wayne State Warriors Women’s Basketball Team in Detroit. She has done a good job with that program. Build a strong foundation & program already now in progress. Carrie knows her Basketball very well. Fortunate enough to be around with the best of them anyways. Good mindset of ideas. Basketball has been her passion she likes the most. Al DeMott is blessed to have her on the team & program. It is an honor & privilege to play for the Legendary HC in HS for the Sandusky Redskins Girls Basketball Team. Amazing 47 years at the helm now.
Her husband plays Golf in the summer time at Woodland Hills Golf Course in Sandusky. With Tom Nowotny. He worked at Huron Manufacturing in Lexington. He likes to ride motorcycles as well too. Her Dad Don Hickson was a diesel mechanic at his home. Worked at Sandusky Walmart for a little bit. Good Golfer at EMS Links in Sandusky. His brother was a good DB for the 1984 & 1985 Sandusky Redskins Football Team. Matt Hickson was good at Football in HS. 1986 Sandusky HS Graduated. They honored the 1984 & 1985 Sandusky Redskins Football Team.
Carrie is doing good things for the Wayne State Warriors Women’s Basketball Team. Support Al DeMott & Sandusky Wolves Girls Basketball Team in the past years. She was Homecoming Queen in HS. She is well liked by everyone else too.
