Gary Barns guide the Goodrich Martians Boys Basketball Team to win Back 2 Back Division 2 Regional Titles on Thursday Night at Richmond HS. Beat the St. Clair Saints in the Division 2 Regional Championship Game. Won his 4th Regional Title in his amazing career. Take on Warren Lincoln in the Quarterfinals on Tuesday Night at Lake Orion HS. They lost to the eventual State Champions a year ago in the Quarterfinals to the Ferndale Eagles at the same place they will be traveling too once again. Gary has a good Assistant Coach in the program. Him & Gary traveled together at the Division 2 District Championship Game on Friday Night at North Branch HS. See them beat the Lake Fenton Blue Devils for the 3rd time this season. Support the girls as well too. See, Jason Gray guide them to another win. Warren Lincoln is a good team they will be facing in that Quarterfinal game. Won over 400 games in his 33 years at the helm. Knows his Basketball very well.
His Son David was on the 20-0 squad as a Junior for the Goodrich Martians Boys Basketball Team in the 1998-99 campaign. PG on that squad. Good 1999 Class at Goodrich HS. St. Charles Twins, Terrance Gilbert, & other ones too in the program. Good group of individuals in the program. Won the GAC & Class C District Title. Won a Regional Game against the Harbor Beach Pirates at Sandusky HS. Got upset by the Brown City Green Devils in the Class C Regional Championship Game at Sandusky HS. Lose 65-61. Ranked No. 3 in the State in Class C in 1999. Finish the season at 24-1 overall record. One of few players came back for his Senior year. Lose to the Flint Hamady Hawks twice in the regular season. Class B State Runner-Up Beecher Buccaneers in the Class B District Championship Game at home. 2000 Goodrich HS Graduated.
David came back home after College. Help out the Boys Basketball Program once again. Help out the kids to succeed in the upcoming years ahead. Guide them to success & get good jobs after their playing days are over. Good Basketball Coach. Help his Dad out. Knows his Basketball very well. Inspire other people to success. Good common sense things. Change their lives around. Make a good difference to other people we live in now. Great mindset of things he does out there. Business person. Passed away in 2012. Living in a great place for good now. Playing Basketball & Coaching the team up in a great place for good now. Sad to see those fine individuals passed away at a young age. Graduated in 2000 at Goodrich HS.
Gary’s Daughter Sara played for Head Coach Jason Gray in his 4 years in HS. 1999-02. On the Back 2 Back 20-0 teams as a Freshman & Sophomore in HS. Good player in HS. 2003 Goodrich HS Graduated. Couldn’t get by the Flint Powers Catholic Powers Chargers while she was in HS. Now, they get by them anyways. Jason took over as Head Coach in 1999 while Sara was a Freshman. Jason has won over 400 games in his amazing 24 years at the helm.
Jason done fantastic work in his time being in Goodrich. Guide the Martians to success. Got a good young girls team this season. Won the Flint Metro Conference Title 2 weeks ago. Follow the Division 2 District Title. Beat the Lake Fenton Blue Devils 3 times on the schedule this season. 24-0 on the campaign. He is a Legend at Goodrich. Inspire other people to succeed. Good group of young players in the program. Lost a lot of talent off the roster to graduation a year ago. Went to the Division 2 Semifinals at the Breslin Center in East Lansing. Lose to the Frankenmuth Eagles 38-31 on St. Patrick’s Day. Got them this around in the regular season at Frankenmuth HS. Early on this season. Jason is a good guy all the way around.

Goodrich Martians take on the Armada Tigers in the Division 2 Regional Semifinal Game on Monday Night at home. Get a good home crowd on hand. Armada is no slouch at all. Be ready to go on time. Do what got you here. Keep the foot on the gas pedal for more to come yet. Play as a team. Stay locked in & go at it 110% at practices & games. Practice for the Armada matchup on Saturday & Sunday. Not take no one lightly at all. They will be ready to play on time…….
