It’s not an easy place to play at Mackey Arena for any opponent that plays on that court. Head Coach Dusty May got them prepared for that contest alone. Purdue is a good team. Matt Painter has done a good job during his 20 years as HC at his alma mater. Got a good backcourt duo with Braden Smith & Fletcher Loyer at the helm. No one had them winning 27 games a year ago. Also no one had them winning the 2025 B1G Conference Basketball Tournament. Go to the 2025 NCAA Tournament & Sweet 16 appearance. Proved all of the College Basketball experts wrong about the Michigan Wolverines a year ago. Carried that momentum to the 2025-26 campaign. Won 52 games & counting in the last 2 years in Ann Arbor. Only lost they had a month ago. Was to the Wisconsin Badgers at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor. 91-88 upset loss. That loss made the Maize & Blue better. Started a new winning streak once again. Wisconsin is not a slouch at all. Can’t take them lightly ever. A loss isn’t a bad thing. They are 25-1 on the campaign. No. 1 team in the nation.
