North Branch Broncos Softball Team had a good 2019 campaign for Head Coach Alyssa Welling. That squad was led by Reese Ruhlman at SS, Autumn Deshetsky at 1B, & Maeson Schulad on the mound. Those where there 3 seniors they had in 2019. Young ones followed the 3 Seniors around to help out the team to be a good team together. They went really far in the Division 2 State Tournament in the last 3 weeks of High School Softball Season. Going to the Division 2 Semifinals at MSU in East Lansing, MI on Thursday. Lost to Escanaba 2-1. They went really far in State Tournament. No other North Branch Broncos Softball Team went really far in State Tournament at all until 2019. I covered quite of few in 2019. Best one I covered was the Richmond Blue Devils Softball Game in the BWAC Conference. Lost both of them in a closed one. 2-1 in 1st Game & 5-3 in the 2nd Game. Finish 2nd in the BWAC Conference Softball Standings right behind the Champions The Richmond Blue Devils. Richmond got upset by Marysville in the Division 2 District Semifinal Game at Armada HS 2 Weeks Ago. North Branch beat Marysville in the Division 2 Regional Championship Game at Richmond HS. Alyssa Welling is proud of those girls have done in 2019. Building a program up for the North Branch Broncos Softball Team & Program in the future for more years to come down the road. Building the foundation. Been a fun ride indeed in the last 3 years at North Branch HS.
