Jack Paupert was brilliant for the Almont Raiders Football Team & Head Coach James Leusby in the Division 5 Regional Championship Game at home against the Saginaw Swan Valley Vikings on Saturday in a 25-14 victory. Jack ran the Football very & scored 2 TD runs from 1 yard out in the 1st Quarter. Played 3 years on Varsity. He is a hard worker in the off-season in the weight room, also in practices & games. Plays Defense for Almont as well too. Also made a reception in the 3rd Quarter. Offensive Line played very well in the victory. Defense was solid in this contest. Run Defense was incredible. Made them one dimensional & force them to throw a lot in the victory. Ritchie Feys has done a remarkable job as Defensive Coordinator for the Almont Raiders Football Team. Defense takes you a long ways in the postseason. Special Teams was brilliant in that one. Offense, Defense, & Special Teams can take you a long ways in postseason also too. Force 4 Saginaw Swan Valley Vikings Turnovers. Almont won the game on all categories & even the scoreboard. Team victory all the way around. James Leusby is not satsfied with this one. Had a good week of practice last week. Led them to a victory at home on Saturday. Got to get another good week of practice this week once again. They will get use of the Field Turf once again next week when they take on the Detroit Denby Tars at Walled Lake Central HS on Saturday at 1PM. They got use to Field Turf at East China Stadium in East China Township in a 22-20 victory in the Division 5 District Championship. Detroit Denby has team speed. Win the Physical Battles. Not seeing a good Wing-T Offense Almont Raiders Football Team is got. James Leusby & his staff will be ready for this test in the Division 5 Semifinals on Saturday. 12-0 on the season.
