Martin Tovar led the Sandusky Redskins Football Team charge on the road against the Bad Axe Hatchets at Claude Marsh Field in Bad Axe on Friday Night. Head Coach Craig Jacobson was happy what Martin Tovar did in that game on the road. Played Varsity Football as a Sophomore a year ago. His experience had paid off very well. 2 TD Runs & 2-Pt Conversion in the victory. Defense played very well in that contest. Held Bad Axe to 6 points on the scoreboard. Big crucial stop in the Red Zone in the 1st Half to keep the score at 14-0 at halftime. Delorrin Wedge had a TD Run in the 2nd Quarter. Had a good game too. Brady Franzel made his presence in his 1st game on Varsity. Shined in that game too. Scored his 1st career TD Run in the 4th Quarter. He is a Junior this year. Seeing him play on JV a year ago. Had a Interception in the Cros-Lex Football. Took on the Freshman Team at Cros-Lex. Plays DB on Defense. Tall to play that Secondary which is not a bad idea too. Matt Carlson had a good game at QB. Running the Football. Had a couple of nice runs on the QB Keeper. Had a TD Run in the 4th Quarter, ran a 2-pt conversion in the 1st Quarter, & threw a 2-pt conversion in the 3rd Quarter. Casey Kirkpatrick put on a show in that game too. Recovered onside kick in the 3rd Quarter. Made some big tackles in that contest. Didn’t play a lot in the last 2 years on Varsity. Making his presences count in 2020 for the Sandusky Redzkins. Craig Jacobson told the team there is a lot of things to work on in practice this week. Big game coming up against the Harbor Beach Pirates this coming Friday Night at Jack Dillon Fieldhouse in Harbor Beach. They beat the Ubly Bearcats 16-14 in a big GTCE Division Game they had out there. Sandusky will not take Harbor Beach lightly at all in this big GTCE Division Football Game. Craig will preach to this team on that too. Bad Axe is a good team as well too. They will win there share of games in 2020.
