Aaron Fernald has done a good job as Head Coach for the Cass City Red Hawks Boys Basketball Team in his 3rd stint. Had decent talent during that time being in those 3 stints as Head Coach in Cass City. Got the best talent in play now. Best squad he is got this season. 1-lost on the schedule. Was to the Bad Axe Hatchets on January 6th, 2023 at Cass City HS 50-41. Got redemption on Wednesday Night at Bad Axe HS. Get a 46-45 win over your rivals in GTCW Division Action. Live & Die on Buzzer Shots all season long. I saw Carter Patrick hit 2 GW Baskets this season at Millington & Bad Axe. His Son Michael is a nice player for them as well too. Cass City was down by 13 points on Bad Axe with 4:32 left in the contest. Defense turn it up in clutch time scenario’s. Turn them to points off the turnovers. Got back into that game. Over come advisory & just play ball. Did a good job not get down to themselves. Keep fighting back. Just believe in your abilities & go for it all & for the win. Riley Swiderski is one of the most improved players around the whole area this season. Worked hard on his game in the summer time & carry that one over to the season. Made strides for himself & everyone else on the roster. He is a Senior at Cass City HS. Been impressed with him all season long.
Eric Glaza is doing a good job filing in for Mark Krug’s shoes for the Bad Axe Hatchets Boys Basketball Team this season. Losing a lot of good talent in the Class of 2022 at Bad Axe HS. Good 2023 Class in play now. Keaton Braun & Griffin Meinhold running the show now. I do like the Sophomore Michael Janssen at PG. Replacing Aaron Sowles position. Learn a lot as a Freshman & carry that over as a Sophomore. Assistant Coach Jason Jurgess said that to me he is going to be a Special Player in the next 2 years. I do like Grady Seltz has taken off very well as a Sophomore on Varsity. Played on JV as a Freshman a year ago. Continue to improve when the season is rolling along. Good Basketball Skills as well too. His Mom Kelly was a stud for the Deckerville Eagles in the Class of 1999 with Natalie Merriman & Michelle Robson. Went 20-0 in her Senior season in HS for Head Coach Jeff Long. Split with the Cass City Red Hawks this season. GTCW Divison is stronger then the GTCE Division is in Boys Basketball.
