Sandusky Wolves Girls Basketball Team Had A Remarkable Milestone Season…….

Sandusky Wolves Girls Basketball Team had a Special Milestone Season. Lots of good things went on for the Legendary Head Coach Al DeMott. Didn’t have a deep bench going into this season. Losing 5 players off the roster to Graduation a year ago. That played on the 20-0 squad. Good core of 3 seniors on the team. Morgan Taege, Brooklyn & Allysen Jansen. Those 3 seniors did a excellent job leading the way for this unit all season long. 2 newcomers stepped up this season in Junior Helena Long & Sophomore Grace Guibord. They contributed right away. Adalee Kaufman played her role as well too. Came off the bench gave them a good lift for the team. Not the best roster Al has ever had. Hard working bunch of ladies. Do it the right way. Listen to details. Play as a team. Go from there on out. Lots of milestones to remember this season. Think about that one. Impressive job by Al DeMott for what he did for those girls all season long. Didn’t have a lot of height on this roster. Lots of speed & power. Played with a lot of heart & determation. To get it done the right way. Have the confidence in yourself & for the team. Led to success in the “W” column. Special Milestone to talk about now.

Al DeMott’s Milestone Season:

Tied the MHSAA Record for most wins of all-times on January 3rd against the Vassar Vulcans at home…..

Broke Frank Orlando’s Record for most wins in MHSAA History against USA Patriots on January 6th at USA. Did a good ceremony for Al DeMott after the Girls Game was over. Credit AD Kiersten Gascho on a job well done on that setup. 798 career win in his 43 years at the helm.

Get his 800th career on January 17th against the Ubly Bearcats at Ubly HS. Only Head Coach to get over 800th wins in MHSAA Hist0ry in Girls Basketball. Only one that has 800th career wins in the State of Michigan.

3-Peat as GTCE Division Champions on February 21st against the Brown City Green Devils at Brown City HS.

Back 2 Back Division 3 Division 3 District Champions on March 4th against the Memphis Yellowjackets at Capac HS.

Win there 8th Regional Championship Title in School History on March 9th at Sandusky HS. Get a 49-44 win over the Cass City Red Hawks.

Put up a good fight in the Division 3 Quarterfinal Game on March 14th at West Bloomfield HS. Division 3 Quarterfinal Game against the Madison Heights Bishop Foley Ventures. Lose 34-32. End that amazing Milestone Season for the Sandusky Wolves Girls Basketball Team.

Finish the season at 23-4 overall record. Lose 4 games by a combined of 13 points all together. 2 by Cass City in OT, Madison Heights Bishop Foley by 2 Pts, 3 Pts by Imlay City, & 6 Pts by Caro. 13 Pts they lost by in the 4 games they played in out there. They where in all 4 games they played in. Credit the Coaches & Players working together as a team. Make a statement for everyone across the Whole Thumb Area. Collect 62 Trophies in his 43 years at the helm. Special season for the Legendary Head Coach. Missed 3 really good Seniors off the team to Graduation. Al loves 3 Seniors did for them there whole entire careers in Sandusky. Graduate in 2 months from now. You get Helena Long, Grace Guibord, & Adalee Kaufman coming back next season. Going to be a Young Squad. Solid JV Squad that went 20-2 overall record in the 2022-23 campaign. Good bunch of Freshman & Sophomores on the JV squad.

Al DeMott is proud of those ladies on the squad all season long. They accomplish a lot of good things in the program. Win with Dignity & Class. Reach your potential at practices & games. Go to class & get good grades in school. Step up for one another at practices & games. Make everyone else better around you better. Go for the drive for it all. Go from there on out. Stay focus on task & go from there on out. Special Milestone Season To Talk For A Long Time Coming In The Future Years In Sandusky. One shining moment to talk about now forever. So many good things to look back on now in the 2022-23 campaign. 814 career wins in his amazing 43 years as Head Coach in Sandusky. We are blessed to see Al DeMott did for everyone else in the small community we live in now. Lots of his former players where at the Regional Championship Game in Sandusky. In the Quarterfinal Game at West Bloomfield HS. Support AlĀ  DeMott. 39 straight winning season in a row. Amazing accomplishment. Hard to do out there. Al knows what he is doing with that department. Greatest HS Girls Basketball Head Coach of all-times in Thumb Area History. Win with Dignity & Class. Well liked by the Sandusky Community. Support everyone else…… Good party they setup for him at Sandusky HS Cafeteria this season. Got to see the former players on hand for that special event…….
