Cass City Red Hawks Boys 🏀 Team 2023-24 GTCE Division Champions. 12-0 in GTCW Division play. Good core of talent came back from a year ago. 4-year starter Carter Patrick. Broke Paul Ulfig’s scoring record in his 4 years playing Varsity 🏀. Lose 3 players off the roster to graduation a year ago. Michael Fernald, Riley Swiderski, & Evan Clark. Good mixed of Juniors & Seniors on Varsity. Been Aaron Fernald’s 2 best he’s had as a Head Coach in Cass City. Never had “Elite Talent” at all. Last 2 years he is had “Elite Talent”. Aaron is a good 🏀 Head Coach. Knows what he is doing out there anyways. Went 21-1 in the regular season. Only lost was to the Harbor Beach Pirates on the road 2 weeks ago. Tough place to play out there anyways. 3rd League Title he has won in Cass City. Been the Head Coach on 3 different stints. 2001-09, 2011-16, & 2018-present. Mentored from Mark Gainforth from the USA Patriots in the past years. Played for the Brown City Green Devils Boys 🏀 Team on Varsity. Played for the Legendary Head Coach Tony Burton in HS. On the best team Tony Burton had in the 1987-88 season. Lost to the USA Patriots in the Class C Regional Championship Game at Frankenmuth HS. Lost on the buzzer shot by 1-Pt. Led by Doug Muxlow. USA had a good team in the 1987-88 campaign. Aaron Fernald graduated in 1989 at Brown City HS. Now onto Districts in Harbor Beach next week. Congratulations on your fine regular season.
