Before the games started. 25 years ago they honored Albrecht Field Baseball & Softball Complex in Sandusky HS. April 26th, 1999. Bob & Dave share good bonds with Al DeMott in the past years. Both of them passed away in 1999 & 2021 respectively. Both of them are very nice guys also too. Hard working individual guys at their business they owned. All started with their Dad at Albrecht Sand & Gravel on M-46 in Snover. Albrecht Family was on hand for the Baseball & Softball Tournament on Saturday. Judy, Tera, & Tom came back home to this event. Tom Albrecht threw out the 1st pitch for the 2024 Sandusky Baseball Invitational. Mike Stoliker & Tom Albrecht met up together once on Saturday. Graduated in 1998 at Sandusky HS. Mike was the Catcher & Tom was the 1st Baseman on the 1998 squad for Head Coach Barry Ziehm. Won the share of the GTCE Division Crown with the Yale Bulldogs in 1998. Good core of talent in 1998. Nick Carman was a good Pitcher on the squad.
Dennis Molloy & Sanilac County Sheriff Paul Rich where on hand to seeing the team play. Live action. Took on the Armada Tigers in 1st game of the 2024 Sandusky Baseball Invitational. See, Sandusky lose 9-3 to the Armada Tigers. Dennis help out Barry Ziehm in 1991-98. Spend his days with Barry Ziehm. Run of the 1990’s were phenomenal for Sandusky Baseball. Paul likes Baseball also too. Both of them share memories of Dave & Bob Albrecht in the past years. Class Act Individual Guys.
Ryan Drabant took over for James Minard position in 2024 for the Sandusky Wolves Baseball Team. James guided them to win Back 2 Back GTCE Division Champions in 2022 & 2023. Focus on his daughter play Softball on Varsity in 2024. James did a good job with that program in his 2 years at the helm. Ryan doing a good job with that program. Knows a lot about the game of Baseball. Learn that stuff from Chris Babcock. Graduated with Chris Babcock in 1992 at Sandusky HS.
Barry Ziehm was on hand to seeing them play on Saturday. Came back home watching team play. Head Coach for a long time in Sandusky. Coach the best team in 1975. Jim Loding was the best pitcher he ever had in Barry Ziehm’s Head Coaching Career. Good core of talent on the 1975 squad. Honored Albrecht Field on April 26th, 1999. Barry had a good team out there in 1999. Paul Solis good pitcher on that squad. Tony Reinke good player. Good group of individuals. End of the run of remarkable teams in 1990’s. Cinderella Team in 1996. Lot of good young talent came to life. Made a special run in the Class C State Baseball Tournament. They did this for the Legendary HS Principal Mr. Mark S. Hund. Dealing with Liver Cancer in December of 1995. Passed away on May 30th, 1997. Wanted to see his Son Josh graduated in Sandusky. Didn’t happen. Passed away the day before Josh graduated in 1997 at Sandusky HS. We all love Mr. Mark S. Hund. He cared about everyone else in the Sandusky Community. Mark a great guy overall. Greatest Principal In Sandusky Community Schools History. Like the one Al DeMott did a speech on Mr. Hund at his memory service at Sandusky HS.
Barry Ziehm & John Guttowsky reunited together on Saturday at Albrecht Field Baseball & Softball Complex in Sandusky. Both of them worked together in Basketball & Golf in the past years. Barry’s Daughter Shelly played on the 1992 Sandusky Redskins Girls Basketball Team. Won the TCC, Class C District & Regional Titles. Finish the season at 22-3 overall record. Come up short in the Class C Quarterfinal Game at Mayville HS. Had a one-point lead over DCC. That DCC girl stepped out of bounds didn’t call that one. Lose 41-40. Start of the run of the 1990’s for Head Coach Al DeMott. Dave Albrecht’s daughter Theresa was on that squad with Shelly Ziehm in 1992. John Guttowsky’s Daugther Julie played on the 1999 Class C State Runner-Up Finishers. My sister Susie was on that squad. Finish the season at 26-2 overall record. Another good group of individuals Al had out there too. Barry’s son Kirk played on the 1990-91 Sandusky Redskins Boys Basketball Team that went 19-2 overall record. Steve Weiler told me that John Guttowsky had a nice team out there. Loaded from top 2 bottom. Barry kept the Golf Program in excellent shape for John Guttowsky to run out there. Both of them will tell you that Dennis Seifferlein was a phenomenal Coach in Baseball & Golf for the CPS Tigers. John & Barry share good bonds with Dennis in the past years. Won their share of Golf meets as well too.

Getting that Baseball & Softball Complex Special once again in Sandusky. Bill Dixon liked Barry Ziehm in School. Bill graduated in 1983 at Sandusky HS. Good Baseball Team in 1983 with Ted Freiburger Jr, Paul Mitchell, Tom Kreger & company. Golf for Barry in HS.
Ryan Pritchett 3rd best pitcher Barry Ziehm ever had in his Coaching Days for the Sandusky Redskins. 1992 Sandusky HS Graduated. Threw 2 no hitters in his playing career. Started that program up 1st in 2021. Seeing what Ryan Drabant is doing now. Graduated with Ryan Drabant in HS. Played on John Guttowsky’s best Boys Basketball Team in the 1991-92 campaign. Went 20-0 in the regular season. Don’t even mention about the Mayville Wildcats Class C District Semifinal Game at Mayville HS in 1992. Lose 42-40. Ryan liked Baseball the best. Took Cass City Red Hawks Baseball Team to a Top 10 Ranking in 2004 & 2006. Good core of talent on display. Awesome OF as well too. Ryan was a good Baseball Coach. Run of the 1990’s was special in Sandusky.

Dennis was the Assistant Coach during that time being with Barry Ziehm. Saw the Michigan Wolverines Football Team be National Champions. Beat the Alabama Crimson Tide 27-20 in OT on New Years Day in Pasadena, CA. 110th Rose Bowl Game. Special feeling to this program. Leave Head Coach Jim Harbaugh on a high note. Beat the Washington Huskies 34-13 in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on January 8th, 2024 at NRG Stadium in Houston, TX. Now, they got Sherrone Moore as their Head Coach for the Maize & Blue. Players like Sherrone as well too. Barry Ziehm is a Michigan Wolverines Sports Fan. Glad to see Barry Ziehm, Albrecht Family, & Ryan Pritchett on hand for the 2024 Sandusky Invitational on Saturday in Sandusky.
