Rachel Van Dyk took over as Head Coach for the 2021 Imlay City Spartans Volleyball Team & Program. She helped out Jim Fish as a Assistant Coach for the North Branch Broncos Volleyball Team & Program in the last 3 years on Varsity. Played College Volleyball for the Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing. Knows her stuff very well. Jim Fish taught her good stuff & she went there on out. Good mentor to have Rachel to succeed now as Head Coach for the Imlay City Spartans Volleyball Team & Program. Gym Teacher at the North Branch Elementary School in the last 3 years. She got a Gym Teaching Job at Imlay City now. Her Husband is from Imlay City also too. From Illinois & good Volleyball Player in HS in that State. B1G Conference in Volleyball is really really strong from Top 2 Bottom. Larissa (Deshetsky) Van Dyk is helping out her Sister in Law this season on Varsity in Imlay City. Larissa played for the North Branch Broncos Volleyball Team in her playing days for Head Coach Jim Fish. She played with Lauren (Strich) Bruise, Olivia (Kohler) Bosch, & other ones in the Class of 2009 at North Branch HS. Played on Jim Fish’s best team in 2007 as a Junior & get upset by the Flushing Raiders in the Class A Regional Championship Game. They where 72-2 overall record in 2007. State Runner-Up in the Winter of 2007 when Larissa was a Sophomore at North Branch HS. Lose to Livonia Churchill in the Class A State Championship Game at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. Larissa knows her Volleyball very well too. Both of them are very nice ladies & hard working individuals year round. Help them succeed in the long road ahead of them in the future years for the Imlay City Spartans Volleyball Team & Program. Rachel is going to be a survivor for this team & program in Imlay City in the long road ahead of them now. Put them to a Powerhouse in Division 2 in the future years. Super nice lady overall. Good mindset of things & good ideas she can bring to the team in the long road ahead of them now. Good inspiration to this Imlay City Community just like she was in North Branch. Class Act Individual Rachel Van Dyk is to everyone else. Smart overall lady. She will do a excellent job with this team & program.
