Mark Dekoski is taking over for the 2020 Ubly Bearcats Football Team & Program as Head Coach. Defensive Coordinator for the 2019 squad that went 10-3 overall record. Finish 2nd in the GTCE Division behind the Champions the Harbor Beach Pirates. They lost to Harbor Beach on Homecoming Night at Jerry Herp Field at Ubly HS 29-14. Got revenge from them in the Division 8 District Championship Game at Jack Dillon Fieldhouse in Harbor Beach 34-20 on November 9th, 2019. Beat Saginaw Nouvel Catholic Central Panthers In The Regional Championship Game At Jerry Herp Field In Ubly HS 56-36. Lose By 1-Point To The Beal City Aggies In The Division 8 Semifinals At Mt. Pleasant HS. Did a great job as Defensive Coordinator a year ago. Now taking over for Head Coach Bill Sweeney. Mark knows what he is doing. Has a good mind of doing it right. Played for Jerry Herp in 1997 & 1998. Best team Mark played against in his 2 years on Varsity for the Ubly Bearcats Football Team was against the 1998 Cros-Lex Pioneers. That squad was loaded from Top 2 Bottom. Best memory Mark ever thought of in his career was beating the Brown City Green Devils 8-7 on there homecoming in 1998. Brown City was banged up that season in 1998. Ran Track & Field In High School. Good Runner As Well Too. 1999 Ubly HS Graduated. His Freshman Year Went To The Class C Playoffs At Home Against The Burton Bendle Tigers & Lost To Them 39-12. Burton Bendle Went To The Class C Semifinals In 1995. Jerry Herp & Bill Sweeney Are Happy To See Mark Dekoski Will Do A Good Job As Head Coach Of The 2020 Ubly Bearcats Football Team & Program. Aaron Maurer & Mark Dekoski will work very well together in the long road. Knows what he is doing. Got a good Football Mind. Hard working individual. Get the best out of those players on a day 2 day basis. School is cancelled for the rest of the season now. Doing very well these days of ages we live in now. Loves to compete. Good competitor. Does it in Dignity & Class. Mark is a good ambassador of this community. Born & Rise In Ubly. Well liked by this community. His Wife is a good Softball Coach for the Ubly Bearcats on Varsity. Remember the 1998 USA Patriots Football Team Won the Class C State Title at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, MI against the Traverse City St. Francis Gladiators 16-8. Assistant Coach on the 2004 Ubly Bearcats & also the 2004 USA Patriots won there 2nd Title in School & Program History at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, MI against the Detroit St. Martin DePorres Eagles 14-7 on Thanksgiving Weekend. Ubly lost USA in the Division 7 District Championship Game 20-0 at USA HS in 2004. USA was unreal that season. They got a tough road schedule in 2020 Lakers, Harbor Beach, Sandusky, & USA. That is good to play a tough regular season schedule in 2020. Going to help out Ubly as well too. Can’t win 6 games & get automatically in no more. Going back to the points once again in 2020. Mark will do a good job as Head Coach of the Ubly Bearcats Football Team & Program in 2020-present.
