Ubly Bearcats Football Team is the Division 8 State Runner-Up Finish on Friday at Ford Field in Detroit. Lose to the Centreville Bulldogs 22-0 in the Division 8 State Championship Game. Carson Heleski had a remarkable career at RB/LB for this team for Head Coach Bill & Eric Sweeney in the last 2 years on Varsity. Won Back 2 Back Division 8 District & Regional Championship Titles. Been a crazy 10 months of the COVID-19 that is going on now still in the Whole World we live in now. They handled that one very well indeed. Having 178 students in the Whole Ubly High School right now. Tough minded people in this Ubly Community. Dedicated bunch as well too. You are proud of what you did for this team & everyone else too. Eric Sweeney did a remarkable job as Head Coach of this squad all season long. They will be the Team to beat in the GTCE Division this coming fall in Ubly. Take home there 2nd State Runner-Up Trophy in School History on Friday. AD Brandon Sorenson played on the 1st State Runner-Up Team in 2008 with Jordan Kaufman & company for Head Coach Bill Sweeney for the Ubly Bearcats Football Team & he was the Safety on Defense in the Secondary Position. DC Jim Becker was on that squad too in 2008. Ubly finish the season at 9-3 overall record in the 2020-21 campaign. Did workouts on there own online in the off-season this past year. Good group of guys on the Football Team anyways. Eric played for Jerry Herp for the Ubly Bearcats Football Team in 1989-91. 1992 Ubly HS Graduated. Jerry Herp will be proud of his effort as well too. Mark Dekoski was supposed to be the Head Coach of this squad. His uncle died a year ago. Take over the Farm instead. Happy to see them did this season too. Finish 3rd in the GTCE Division in Football in the 2020-21 campaign. Sandusky went undefeated in GTCE Division Play & there going to lose a lot of talented players off the squad to Graduation in the 2021 Class in 3 more months from now. Proud of the Ubly Bearcats Football Team on a fine season overall. See them play this coming fall at Jerry Herp Field in Ubly HS.
