Mike Tressel takes over as DC for the 2021 Cincinnati Bearcats Football Team for Head Coach Luke Fickell. Marcus Freeman takes over as DC for the 2021 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football Team in South Bend, IN for Head Coach Brian Kelly. Clark Lea took over as Head Coach for the Vanderbilt Commodores in Nashville. Marcus did a fantastic job as DC in the last 3 years for the Cincinnati Bearcats Football Team for Head Coach Luke Fickell. Went 9-1 overall record this past year. Won the American Athletic Conference in 2020. Came up short in the New Years 6 Bowl Game in the Chick-fil-A Bowl Game against the Georgia Bulldogs at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Mike was on Mark Dantonio’s Coaching Staff at Cincinnati on his 1st stint in 2004-06 & Michigan State Spartans in 2007-19 & 2020 with Mel Tucker in East Lansing. Now on his 2nd stint once again at Cincinnati for Head Coach Luke Fickell. Nephew of Jim Tressel in his Head Coaching Days for the Youngstown State Penguins & Ohio State Buckeyes in 1985-2010. Better Defensive Coaches then Urban Meyer & Ryan Day at Ohio State. Mike has good experience as DC for the Michigan State Spartans Football Team in the past years in East Lansing. He will use that experience very well for the Cincinnati Bearcats Football Team in 2021-present. Still be a Top 10 Defensive Team in the nation in 2021 College Football season. Luke Fickell is a good College Football Head Coach & Defensive Coach as well too. Hired another good one there once again in Cincinnati for the 2021 campaign. Going to be still a Top 10 Defensive Team for the Cincinnati Bearcats Football Team. Still the team to beat in the American Athletic Conference in 2021. Defense Wins Games & Championships Period.
