Nick Cobb knows his Baseball very well. Having the honor & privilege to play for the Hall of Fame Head Coach Curt Henderson with the Mayville Wildcats Baseball Team. For 3 years on Varsity 1996-98. Pitcher/3rd Baseman for Curt Henderson. 1998 Mayville HS Graduated. Curt knows his stuff very well. Coaches like a College Baseball Team. Curt can flat out Coach Baseball with the best of them. Nick was fortunate enough to play for the Legend in HS. Curt treated everyone with dignity & class. Knows what he is talking about. Not too many of them aren’t in Curt Henderson coaching level in HS Baseball in the whole thumb area. Won 418 games as HC 1978-01. Several Championship Trophies he collected during his tenure. Nick’s brother Nate was the 1995 Mayville HS Graduated. 1st Baseman on Varsity for 3 years in 1993-95. He was the “Lefty” on that roster. 1993 squad was loaded. Best player that came out of Mayville in Curt Henderson’s coaching career. Scott Frenzel graduated in 1993 at Mayville HS. Very good pitcher also too. Set a good example & also set a good foundation to the Mayville Wildcats Baseball Program. Went to the 1993 Class C Semifinals & lose to the Detroit Country Day Yellowjackets at Bailey Park in Battle Creek. Chris Yens, Joel TerBush, & other ones will tell you that Scott Frenzel was the best pitcher that came of Mayville in a good 4-year run 1993-96. Nate got fortunate enough to play with Scott Frenzel while he was a Sophomore in HS.
Nate Cobb played against the better Sandusky Redskins Baseball Team then did Nick did in HS. The 1994 Sandusky Redskins Baseball Team was loaded. Split with the Mayville Wildcats in 1994 & 1995. 1998 Sandusky Redskins Baseball had a good team. Not better than the 1994 one. Mike Stoliker said that the 98 was better than the 94 in Sandusky. I say not so fast by friend. 94 had better personnel then did the 98 had. More power & speed which was the 94 squad. Don’t get me wrong with the 98 squad was good. Not better than the 94 one. Went 13 innings against the Sandusky Redskins in the 1993 Class C Regionals at Deckerville HS. Sandusky had a good 1993 squad also too. Hot sunny day in Deckerville. Mayville beat Sandusky 13-9 in 13 innings. Curt Henderson is really good friends with Barry Ziehm also too.
Nick helping out the 2026 Almont Raiders 12U Baseball Team. Won the 2026 Imlay City Baseball Tournament on Sunday. Beat the Cass City Red Hawks in the Championship Game. Take home the 1st place trophy. Done with Baseball in 2026. Move on to Football coming up soon. Curt Henderson is proud of what Nick did as HC for the 2026 Almont Raiders Baseball Team for 12U. Gotta take a Baseball test. Have a 70% or better to play in the games. If you get under 70% on your Baseball test you don’t play in the games. Curt gives out a hard Baseball test to the Mayville Wildcats Baseball program. Not an easy test to take. Lots of abstract questions. Curt coaches like a pro or College team for the Mayville Wildcats Baseball Team. Curt has been a savior to everyone else in the Mayville Community. Taught Nick Cobb good stuff while he was in HS. Curt was a great supporter also too. Led him to success. Name the field on Curt Henderson at Mayville HS. Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Hall Of Fame. Went to CPS HS & Graduated in 1970. Went to Central Michigan University & played College Baseball also too. Living Legend. CPS has the cradle of coaches that went to other HS & succeed high expectations. Mayville Is A Baseball Town……. Nick loves Baseball the most.
